CLIMATE

Baldwin Township’s proximity to Lake Huron has a significant effect on the weather the Township experiences.  The mean temperature in the hottest month (July) is 69 degrees while the mean temperature for the coldest month (February) is 18 degrees.  The Township averages 28.78 inches of precipitation for the year with 65% falling in April through September.  August is the wettest month with an average of 4.74 inches of rain while March is the driest with 1.08 inches of precipitation.  The Township receives an average of 41.3 inches of snow per year.

Prevailing winds are from the Northwest except for May and June when the winds are generally from the Southeast.  In July and August, lake breezes are frequent during the daylight hours due to the difference in heating between the land and Lake Huron.  The mean annual wind speed is 7.3 MPH with the highest mean speed in April (8.6 mph) and the lowest in August (6.1 mph).
